You know those days when you'd just rather stay in bed, snuggled up with a good read and some piping hot tea? Well, these clothes remind me of that feeling: ease, comfort and warmth. Which is exactly what I need now that winter is coming. Read on to see where I found these items!

Let's start off with the sweater I'm wearing. My mom gave it to me because it didn't fit her anymore and I gladly adopted it. A turtleneck is such a great basic piece to have in your wardrobe, since it's very wearable and almost always looks cute. Over the years, I've collected three, each black, each slightly different. This one is my favourite, because it's the warmest and it has some lovely detailing in the chest area that you can only see when you look very closely. I'm hoping I can find some more turtlenecks in other colours to add to my (very modest) collection, but I find these rather hard to thrift in Belgian second hand stores. See, the problem is that they are either way too big or way too itchy, so the hunt goes on! In the meantime, I'm pretty happy with these.

For the black & white checkered skirt, I turned to my one true love: Think Twice. I found these when I wasn't really looking for anything, just mindlessly stepped into the store (these kinds of habits are hard to break, you know) and stumbled upon it. I absolutely adore anything gingham, but weirdly, this is the only piece with this sort of patterning in my whole closet. The skirt hugs my waist and then flares out, making it a pretty flattering silhouette. The waistband is very stretchy, which means this skirt is one of my prefered things to wear when I go out to eat (in such situations, a food baby is inevitable). Nobody will even notice my bump, because the skirt has so much fabric to it!

I wasn't wearing shoes these days, since I only packed hiking shoes and those don't exactly compliment this outfit very well, but if I were I would choose my most beloved pair of secondhand boots. Curious? I'll tell you all about them in another post ;)
