OOTD #10: Parisian picnic

I visited Paris a few weeks back and was determined to only pack summery clothes, 'cause what screams 'summer' more than a trip away? I had just bought a perfect dress for this occasion and couldn't wait to wear it in the city of love.

Let's start by saying that I promised myself to not buy any clothes for a few months because my closet was literally overflowing with stuff I don't wear anymore and it stresses me out. But I clearly lack self-control and just couldn't resist this dress.

I had been looking for one of these for a few months but for some reason I never really found one that was flattering on my figure. They either were way too lose or way too tight in all the wrong places. This one on the other hand fits great. It's a bit big on me when I wear it tied at the back, but I just tie it in the front and it works well that way. I'm a big fan of the pattern of dainty little flowers, but I mostly love the colour and the lenght.
I don't know how old these shoes are, but I'm guessing they've seen quite a few years. The straps are close to falling off, but other than that they're still in great shape. I just hope that, when they do fall off, I can replace them because these are my favourite shoes ever. The brown goes really well with the rest of my clothes and, as you probably know if you read this blog, I'm a huge fan of Dr. Martens.

These were actually a little bit too small for my feet when I took them home. I solved that problem by putting them in the freezer with a bag of ice stuffed in them close to the toes and it worked! Now I happily wear them when the mood strikes (which is pretty much all the time).

To stay in the summer-theme, I decided to take this handbag with me. I've had it for 15 years and I can't remember where I got it, but I'm over the moon that I found it again. This handbag is a typical example of something cute, but not at all handy. All of the stuff I put in it keeps falling out and it's quite fragile but gives me major picnic-vibes, which is all I'm living for now that summer is almost starting here in Belgium.

As you may know by now, almost all of the earrings I own are hand-me-downs. I rarely buy them myself, because I can't seem to find ones I like in thrift stores nearby. I don't really know who gave these to me, but I found them in a random closet at my parents' house a few months back and have been wearing them almost non-stop since. I love the simplicity of these, and how they're still quite an unlikely design at the same time. The gold works well with the colour scheme I most often wear and the fact that they're so delicately made makes them the perfect pair to wear with summerdresses.
How much for everything?
